Annenberg Cinematheque
Vogel was the director of film and a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School of Communications from the early 1970s to the early 1990s. He founded the Annenberg Cinematheque on campus, often programming series based on specific themes and genres. The documents here exemplify Vogel's approach to documentary film programming, in addition to some general Cinematheque schedules.
Vogel also taught courses at the Annenberg School, including "Sources of the Modern Cinema" and "Methods of Film Analysis." Teaching materials from his collection show how he envisioned a "formal-analytic" approach to film education, arranging course content based on analytical methods rather than historical chronology.
