“Revival”
The verb “revive” signals the wide range of work and interests involved in this project, encompassing the archival work of cataloging, re-housing, and digitizing film, as well as the research-oriented work of producing scholarship and outreach activities to share the collections with a broad public.
A revival in this archival sense necessitates both the preservation of these materials and the multifaceted efforts to make these programs as accessible as possible. Enabling accessibility involves not only making materials readily available to scholars but also facilitating a non-hierarchical approach to scholarship wherein all who are interested have some means to experience and study this content.
